The American Red Cross of South Central and Southeast Kansas announces the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors.

Corie Forbes and Jennifer Keller, along with 22 other board members, support and lead the chapter’s work to prevent and alleviate human suffering in emergencies. The Red Cross of South Central and Southeast Kansas serves approximately 1 million residents of a 21-county area by providing disaster relief, providing emergency preparedness education, collecting and distributing blood, teaching life-saving skills, and supporting military families.

“I am so proud to have Corie and Jennifer on the board of directors of the Red Cross of South Central and Southeast Kansas. They join a group of community leaders who are committed to serving their communities through the Red Cross mission,” said Shannon Wedge, executive director of the Red Cross of South Central and Southeast Kansas.

ABOUT CORIE FORBES Corie Forbes was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She and her husband have been together for 20 years and have three wonderful children. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Emporia State University and a master’s degree in nursing from MidAmerica Nazarene. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wichita State University. Forbes has worked at Wesley Healthcare for 13 years in various roles, primarily in neuroscience nursing, and has been the assistant chief nursing officer for the past five years. She has been recognized by the Wichita Business Journal as one of the Women in Leadership at Large Companies and a Healthcare Hero. HCA Healthcare has recognized Forbes with the Excellence in Nursing Award for Hospital Professional Mentoring with Distinction and the Excellence in Nursing Award for Compassionate Care.

ABOUT JENNIFER KELLER Jennifer Keller is a native Kansan. She earned her bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Wichita State University and her master’s degree in public health with a focus on qualitative methods from the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita. Keller has worked in marketing and public relations for various organizations for 33 years, but she enjoys nonprofit work the most. She is currently looking for her next big adventure. In her personal life, Keller was married on Valentine’s Day 32 years ago and together with her husband Derek, she has raised three wonderful children.
