Slow horses was the first series to be renewed in 2024. In early January, Apple TV+ picked up the series for a fifth season, which will air on Mick HerronSpy novel London Rules.
The series, which premiered in 2022, is about a dysfunctional team of British secret agents who are entrusted with office work at Slough House. The stars of Slow Horses Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden And Christopher Chung.
Minx, meanwhile, didn’t have the same luck as it was canceled for a second time. In May 2022, Max renewed Minx for a second season, but reversed the decision by the end of the year.
Starz picked up the series – season 2 will start in July 2023 – but decided not to order a third season. Before the cancellation was confirmed in January, Jake Johnson indicated that he was not expecting good news.
“Since I cut my hair short, I don’t expect it to be extended,” Johnson said. Deadline in December 2023 and called the fate of the series “unfortunate” because “this show had a lot to offer.”
“I think the move to Starz – I think HBO did their HBO thing or HBO Max, whatever it’s called now – was brutal for (the show),” he added. “Then the strike came when we were trying to promote it. … I guess you can only beat something up so many times and still keep going.”
