Langston, OK – August 29, 2024 – GreenRidge Phoenix is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of an equity app, the “GreenRidge Phoenix App,” to support the development of a much-needed gas station and hotel in the historic Black town of Langston, Oklahoma. Langston is one of 13 remaining original Black towns and settlements in the state, and this project represents a significant opportunity to improve the community’s infrastructure and economy.
Project overview:
Affectionately called the “7-Eleven Hotel” by its founder Bernard Allen-Bey, the proposed project will be located in the heart of the city of Langston near the university campus. The development will include a 7-Eleven gas station that will offer a selection of snacks, beverages and everyday essentials, as well as a 100-room Holiday Inn hotel with a restaurant and meeting rooms. This project is expected to create jobs for local residents and students, bring much-needed tax revenue to the city, and provide convenient amenities for both residents and visitors.
Donation goal:
GreenRidge Phoenix is seeking to raise $10 million to complete this project. The funds will be used to cover the costs of land acquisition, construction, and initial operations of the gas station and hotel. However, we are not currently soliciting investment. Instead, we are testing the waters and are eager to hear feedback from the community and potential stakeholders. Your input will help us refine our plans and ensure this project meets the needs of Langston and its residents. We want to hear from you – what do you think of this project?
