A stowaway hidden in the undercarriage of an airplane survived a flight from Guatemala to Miami.
A video shows the man sitting dazed on the tarmac of an American Airlines plane and receiving water from ground staff.
He was wearing jeans, a T-shirt, jacket and boots and otherwise appeared unharmed in footage attributed to the social media site Only In Dade.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirmed the man is 26 years old and was hospitalized after surviving the two-and-a-half-hour journey from Guatemala City to Miami.
“Individuals face extreme risks when attempting to hide in confined spaces such as an airplane,” CBP said in a statement.
“This incident remains under investigation.”
