Aaron Taylor-Johnson craves blood

Aaron Taylor-Johnson shows no mercy in a new trailer for Sony and Marvel’s “Kraven the Hunter,” which tells the origin story of the “Spider-Man” villain.

In the first new footage released in over a year, Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven is seen kicking ass and taking names in gruesome ways, including stabbing his opponents in the neck, catching them in bear traps, and shoving them through windows. As Johnny Cash’s “The Man Comes Around” plays, Taylor-Johnson transforms from your average assassin into the fur-wearing villain that fans of “Spider-Man” know as Kraven.

In the film, Kraven’s “complex relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe), leads him to embark on a quest for revenge with brutal consequences, making him not only the world’s greatest hunter, but also one of its most feared,” according to the film’s official synopsis.

In addition to Taylor-Johnson and Crowe, Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola and Christopher Abbott also star in “Kraven the Hunter”. “Margin Call” director JC Chandor is directing the film based on a story by Richard Wenk (“The Equalizer” films) and a screenplay by Wenk, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Benjamin Wallfisch wrote the film music. Producers include Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and David Householter.

“Kraven the Hunter” is the latest installment in Sony’s Marvel Universe, which also includes the Spidey spin-offs “Venom,” “Morbius,” and “Madame Web.” After several postponements, “Kraven the Hunter” is set to hit theaters on December 13th through Columbia Pictures, a Sony company.
