After it was unclear whether there would be a presidential debate, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris agreed to meet on September 10.
ABC announced that its mobile app will no longer be available on mobile devices and connected TVs starting September 23. Despite this change, the network assured viewers that they will still be able to access all of their favorite shows, specials and live TV through various other platforms.
While the ABC app is about to be shut down, the network has highlighted several alternatives for streaming its content:
ABC.com
Offers full episodes, live TV, 24/7 streaming channels, and more.
TV provider
Viewers can log in through a participating TV provider to access all available episodes on ABC.com, removing any restrictions normally indicated by lock icons.
Hulu
Stream full episodes the day after they air and watch entire seasons in one go anytime.
Disney+
Features content from National Geographic, Disney, Marvel and more.
ABC News
Delivers the latest national and international news.
Local news
Viewers can check partner stations for local news updates.
ESPN
Offers live sports coverage via ESPN and ESPN+.
For those with accounts with a TV provider, ABC highlighted the additional benefits, including the ability to watch every episode of a season on various networks such as ABC, Freeform, FX and National Geographic. In addition, primetime episodes will be available the day after they air and live streaming of current shows will be possible.
Although the ABC app is being discontinued, the network’s popular shows like “General Hospital,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “American Idol” and “Dancing with the Stars” will remain available on these alternative platforms. Fans can still enjoy live news, sports and major events like “The Oscars” and “The Emmys” through these new streaming options.
