PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona residents now have even more specialty license plates to choose from and support their favorite charities. On Thursday, ADOT introduced three new specialty plates, including two more that are now available to motorcyclists.
Arizona residents can now purchase specialty plates from the Hualapai Tribe, Phoenix Rising FC and Rotary International, and motorcyclists can obtain Arizona Highways plates and the newly designed Keep Arizona Beautiful plates.
“Specialty plates allow you to customize your vehicle and show your support for one of these unique Arizona organizations,” said MVD Director Eric Jorgensen. “MVD is pleased to offer the various plates that positively impact the organizations working to improve Arizona and our communities.”
With the new plates, drivers can now choose from a whopping 104 options. Most specialty plates cost $25 per year, and $17 of that goes to a charity or nonprofit organization. Personalization is available for an additional $25 per year.
Phoenix Rising FC
Support the Valley’s own soccer team by purchasing a new Phoenix Rising FC plaque! It’s available to anyone and $17 will benefit soccer programs and services for kindergarten and high school-aged boys and girls whose families are struggling financially.
“Our fans have been asking for a Phoenix Rising license plate for years and we are excited to finally make this a reality. We involved our fans every step of the way to select the most popular license plate while adhering to state guidelines,” said Bobby Dulle, President of Phoenix Rising. “It’s a fantastic way for our fans to show their Rising pride on the road and best of all, every license plate purchased supports our youth programs and helps make the game more accessible to young players throughout our community.”
Hualapai Tribe
ADOT says $17 from each purchase goes to the Hualapai Tribe for ongoing humanitarian services to tribal elders, healthy and positive activities for tribal youth, and support of programs related to health, recreation and education in the community.
“The Hualapai Tribe is proud that citizens across Arizona can now obtain a specialty license plate and is grateful to the many tribal members who made this possible,” said Tribal Chairman Duane Clarke. “Those who purchase the Hualapai Tribe’s specialty plates help to provide ongoing support for programs in the community. This is a great opportunity and we look forward to sharing the many benefits with the Hualapai people.”
Rotary International
ADOT says $17 from each purchase will benefit the Rotary Clubs of Arizona and their projects.
“These license plates not only demonstrate our commitment to service, but also provide an opportunity for individuals to support Rotary’s humanitarian efforts in the areas of education, health and clean water,” said Stephen Phair, president and founder of the Rotary Clubs of Arizona. “This was a collaborative effort by Rotarians from across our state, and we are grateful for their contributions. The official license plate will serve as a symbol of Rotary’s commitment to making a positive impact on the local and global community.”
