According to sources, an Air India flight attendant was attacked by an intruder in a London hotel earlier this week.

The airline is pursuing the matter with the local police.

An Air India spokesman said in a statement that they were “deeply saddened by the incident of an unlawful intrusion into a hotel belonging to a major international chain, which affected one of our crew members.”

According to insiders, a homeless man entered the female flight attendant’s room and attacked her.

When she screamed, others who were nearby came and rescued her and the person was caught, they added.

According to one of the sources, cabin crew at the hotel were allegedly sexually assaulted, while two other sources claimed it was a physical attack.

The incident took place at a star hotel near London’s Heathrow airport. The cabin crew member has returned to India and is currently undergoing therapeutic treatment, the sources added.

After the incident came to light, airline employees complained about safety issues via the airline’s internal communications platform.

According to one of the sources, one of them claimed that hotel staff was unavailable at night and access to the premises was not controlled.

The airline’s statement said it would provide the colleague and his team with all possible support, including professional advice.

“Air India is also working with the local police to pursue the matter to the fullest extent possible under the law and with the hotel management to ensure that such incidents do not recur. We request that the privacy of those involved be respected,” it said.
