TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – Alabama Power partnered with Young Tuscaloosa for their first electric car lunch and to learn more about electric cars. It was announced as the EV Tailgate. There were various electric vehicles on display at Alabama Power’s office on Queen City Avenue. Company leaders said it was an opportunity to showcase the growing electric car trend and the growing number of electric car charging stations across the state.
“So electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular as the charging infrastructure continues to grow, people are becoming aware of them and there are cooler vehicles as well. Now you see Cybertrucks, Tesla has a whole fleet of them. They’re fun to drive. They’re definitely becoming more popular and we’re seeing that growth as we see more charging stations in the area,” said Danielle Kimbrough, spokeswoman for Alabama Power West Alabama.
Young Tuscaloosa is made up of young professionals aged between early 20s and 40.
