An honest review of Babylist Baby List in 2024

Creating the baby list made everything feel so much nicer real. For the entire first trimester, I felt like I was filled with cement – I felt awful. No belly yet, no one knew I was pregnant except my family and close friends, and the idea of ​​having a real human baby growing inside me was just amazing. Are we sure I didn’t just have the flu?

By week 14, I knew the baby’s gender, had a little gender reveal party, and had stocked up on more stretchy leggings (even without a big belly, the bloat was REAL). But it still didn’t feel like we were having a baby, like there was actually going to be a baby in a few months, living in my house, ThingsSo one night I searched the internet for the best place to create a registry and then set about putting together a baby registry that would finally make us feel like we were really in a pregnancy.

I ended up choosing Babylist (this is what my wishlist looks like!) and not only did it get me really excited for my baby shower, but I also felt so much more prepared. “This is really something,” I whispered to my husband probably 20 times a day. A few times a week, I added more and more products to the list. After seeing an influencer rave about her baby swing, I had to add a baby swing. A friend told me she couldn’t live without her super soft nursing cover, so I added that nursing cover to the list. And so on and so forth.

I’m now 38 weeks pregnant and ready to meet Baby Girl. I’m so excited that she has everything she and I need to make her first few years a breeze. Or… even more breeze. Whatever. So if you’re wondering which babylist to choose to make your life (and your baby shower) easier, here are all the reasons why Babylist was a great choice.

My honest review of Babylist Baby Registry

Registration is free.

You literally don’t have to pay anything to use Babylist’s registration service.

It is easy to use.

Creating your registry with Babylist is super intuitive. Here’s how it works: You set up your registry by first adding your name, a photo (if desired), and a short description (optional).

Then you start adding products. There are two ways to do this: You can download the Babylist browser extension (I did), so when you’re on Amazon, Walmart, Target, H&M, Caden Lane, Little Sleepies – literally any website – you can automatically add the product you want to your list by category.

You can also browse a number of popular baby specialty stores through Babylist.

You can customize it based on your due date and interests.

Enter your due date and Babylist can recommend specific products for each trimester. Right now, Babylist knows I’m 38 weeks and gives me a list of postpartum essentials I might want to get myself (since I’ve already showered).

You can add products from virtually any retailer to your list.

I knew I didn’t want a retailer-specific baby list because I wanted to choose items from a number of different stores. Babylist makes it just as convenient and quick as an Amazon, Walmart, or Target list, but Babylist lets you add items from boutique baby brands that only sell on their website (there are many great brands that aren’t available on Amazon!). These products may take a little longer to deliver (that depends entirely on the brand, not Babylist), but this way I’m not just reliant on what Amazon/Target/Walmart offers.

All you or your guests need to do is fill out 40 percent of your baby wish list and meet a minimum order of $30 (you can do this yourself if you don’t want to wait for your guests to do it). Then Babylist will tell you you’re eligible for a free box – just pay $8.95 for shipping and it’s all yours! I currently qualify, so I’ll do that ASAP.

It’s easy to share your Babylist baby registry with others.

All you have to do is copy and paste the link to your registry, which is what I did in my Evite invitation. Some of my family members who live out of state wanted to know how to access my registry, and I simply texted them the link.

Babylist also offers verified recommendations if you need them or are curious.

For a few months, I constantly googled “baby registry essentials” (and eventually wrote a guide myself!) and looked at Babylist’s recommendations because there are *so* many new products on the market that I, as a first-time mom, had no idea about. Here’s what Babylist recommends for my fourth trimester (aka “postpartum”).

You will receive a notification when someone purchases something from your registry.

I would receive emails when someone purchases something from my list, so if they choose to have the gift sent directly to my home, I would know (and wouldn’t open it!). Guests can choose to keep what they’re gifting a secret (though you can look if you want), and they can have the gift sent to them to bring to you, or have it sent directly to you. You’ll also be notified in the free app!

You can offer the option for group gifts.

One of the products on my wishlist cost over $100, so I made it optional for people to co-buy it (this isn’t available for all products – just FYI).

You will receive free registration cards from us.

If you send physical invitations, Babylist will send you free insert cards so you can add where to look for your baby registry. They really have thought of everything.

Friends and family can also provide help and favors once the baby arrives.

Showing love and support doesn’t have to be expensive – it can mean cooking meals for the new parents, offering to watch the baby while mom takes a shower, cleaning the house, and more. You can add some of these “gift cards” as an option to your list.

I had no problems with shipping.

I can confirm that I received all the gifts on my list!
