Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez brought color to the United Center in Chicago on Sunday. The US congresswoman from New York is scheduled to speak on Monday on the first night of the Democratic National Convention, which will also feature former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden.
During her visit to the indoor arena ahead of the party’s convention, the politician, who goes by the acronym AOC, wore a purple midi dress with soft shoulders. The look featured a draped fabric motif and pleats on one shoulder.
AOC’s political fashion has seen a huge resurgence in recent years. The politician, who wore one of the most searched Met Gala looks of all time, has incorporated various pastel shades into her wardrobe during her time representing New York’s 14th Congressional District.
During an appearance on the “Late Show With Stephen Colbert” last April, Ocasio-Cortez donned a power suit that she had previously worn at a rally outside the Democratic National Committee headquarters on November 19, 2020.
She is using her social media platforms to connect with potential voters in the 2024 election cycle. The well-known politician has also shown her support for Vice President Kamala Harris after she entered the presidential race last month.
The 2024 Democratic National Convention will take place Monday through Thursday in Chicago. Delegates from all 50 U.S. states and territories will come together to officially nominate Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as the vice presidential nominee.
