Season 2 has been a long time coming, but it will be worth the wait. The series will finally return on November 2nd, marking the end of the Arcane History as fans know it.

The first five episodes of the second season of the popular animated series can now be found in various corners of the internet. However, they seem to be of low quality (usually around 360p), riddled with watermarks, and contain a lot of unfinished/non-final animation content.
This is the latest in a series of leaks from Netflix as hackers exploit what appears to be a serious security flaw.
Experts have called this the biggest leak in animation history, as it not only includes several unreleased titles, but also some of the streamer’s biggest blockbusters left in 2024.
Arcane came out of this leak relatively easily, as only a portion of the show’s upcoming season found its way onto the internet.
Other projects have not fared nearly as well, with titles like the Terminator Zero Anime set to release on Thursday, August 29th, whose entire series of unreleased episodes had been leaked to the public.
Adjacent titles Arcane And Terminator contain Dandadan, Ranma1/2the upcoming Spongebob Movie and Mononoke.
The origin of the leak remains unknown, but some have speculated – based on watermarks on several of the associated videos – that the data may have been leaked sometime during Japan Expo 2024, which took place in Paris, France from July 11-14 (via Games Radar).
Netflix has not yet commented on the leaked titles, but appears to be in the process of removing posts promoting the leak or sharing unreleased material online.

What could the Arcana leaks mean for season 2?
After this massive Netflix leak, which included Arcane Season 2: Many fans will be wondering what will happen next with the animated series.
Some say there is a possibility that the series’ release date will be brought forward now that the first five episodes have been released to mitigate the impact of possible spoilers.
While this would not be an unprecedented step, it seems highly unlikely at this point.
Judging by the current state of the series based on these leaked videos, it is not quite fully developed yet and there is still a considerable amount of animation work to be done.
Of course, these leaked versions of the episodes may not reflect the current state of production of the series.
They could date back several weeks or months before the actual leak and the perpetrators simply only had access to these older versions.
But even then, there is certainly still more than three months until the show’s official release to have a final version of these episodes.
The most likely course of action for Netflix will probably be to not stay the course. This would mean that the Arcane The animation team is finishing up its work on the series, setting the show’s release date in November, and the streamer is likely launching a major campaign to find whoever did it in the first place.
