Ask the King of Morocco: This is the most luxurious hotel in the world

Ahead of the World’s 50 Best Hotels awards ceremony in London on September 17, the best hotel in the World’s Best Hospitality Experience category for 2024 was announced this week.

The winning hotel is the Royal Mansion Marrakesh, located between the ancient walls of the old town of Marrakesh and designed by the King of Morocco. According to the tender, this luxury resort will do everything to make guests feel like royalty.

Opened in 2010, the hotel is comprised of a series of private riads spread across 2.4 hectares of lush gardens. The hotel has been described as a “benchmark for the luxury hotel industry” thanks to its “exceptional” hospitality and attention to detail.

The resort features a network of hidden tunnels and “secret doors” to ensure guests enjoy complete privacy. The hotel also offers each guest their own private palace and personal butler. “Royal Mansour Marrakesh represents the art of hospitality,” says Emma Slate, head of content for the World’s 50 Best Hotels, who continues to praise the hotel for its resilience following a devastating event, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck central Morocco last September.

To determine the winner, Academy members who select the list were asked to identify the property where they had the “best hospitality experience by far” during the 18-month voting period, paying particular attention to atmosphere, the provision of “unique experiential elements” and the overall warmth of the hospitality and environment.

“We want all guests to leave our hotels with the most beautiful and magical memories of their stay,” said the hotel’s CEO, Jean-Claude Massent, who also described the place as “the jewel in the crown.”
