Back to the Future Returns to Rhode Island Comic Con

Fire up your DeLorean and dust off your hoverboard – the cast of Back to the Future is returning to Rhode Island Comic Con.

Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, Tom Wilson and James Tolkan will all perform.

Group photos will surely be available and we hope to have a panel discussion where we can learn more from Lorraine Baines, Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown, Biff Tannen and Mr. Strickland.

Lloyd and Wilson last appeared at the Rhode Island Comic Con in 2017.

There may be more Back to the Future announcements to come.

It’s worth noting that Thompson, Lloyd and Wilson will also appear with Michael J. Fox at LA Comic Con in October. Time will tell.

As for the rest of the lineup announced so far, it runs the gamut. Voice actors, film actors, artists, cosplayers – too many to list.

There are plenty of cast reunions, from Breaking Bad to Blue’s Clues and from The Fairly OddParents to Twilight.

A real highlight is the appearance of a dozen stars from the “Scream” series.

You can meet David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, Jamie Kennedy, Rose McGowan and Laurie Metcalf from the original trilogy, as well as actors from the more recent films (Dermot Mulroney, Melissa Barrera).

The release of Scream in 1996 brought horror back. It’s a classic. This panel will be packed.

Other big names on the Rhode Island Comic Con guest list: William Shatner, Ric Flair, Dean Norris, Hayden Panettiere, Jon Bernthal, Priscilla Presley and Tori Spelling.

And then there’s JoJo Siwa, whose appearance is reportedly her first ever convention appearance.

The singer/dancer/actress has been in the public eye since she was ten years old and eventually made it onto Lifetime’s reality show “Dance Moms.”

She moved on to Nickelodeon and several other reality competition shows before releasing new music this year.

Siwa has been the subject of controversy, tabloid headlines and SNL parodies.

Her announcement at Rhode Island Comic Con garnered thousands of comments, reactions, and shares on Facebook. The reactions were mixed.

As someone who is attending Rhode Island Comic Con for the 10th time this year, I can say this: It will have its audience.

There are less than three months until Rhode Island Comic Con 2024.

Dozens of celebrity guests have yet to be announced. Autograph and photo opportunities are filling up. Panel discussion dates are yet to be announced. I love this time of year.

Rhode Island Comic Con will take place November 1-3 at the Rhode Island Convention Center, Amica Mutual Pavilion and Omni Hotel.

Tickets are still available.
