Barrel Global partners with Still Austin

As Texas whiskey continues to rival Kentucky and Tennessee with its booming distillery scene and strong sense of terroir, a new partnership between two industry trailblazers is announced. Barrel Global will partner with Still Austin Whiskey Co. to expand its barrel ownership offerings to Texas.

Starting today, Barrel Global is offering new barrels through its online portal www.barrelglobal.com.

Since its inception, Still Austin has been committed to creating whiskeys that capture the essence of Austin’s spirit and creativity. By working with local farmers and utilizing sustainable practices, the brand has carved a niche for itself in the craft whiskey market. Using a custom 42-foot column still – affectionately known as “Nancy” – Still Austin combines cutting-edge technology with traditional methods to produce whiskey with unmatched depth and complexity.

Available through Barrel Global, Still Austin Barrels are made from a mash of 70% white corn, 25% brasetto rye and 5% wildfire malted barley, using only grains sourced from Texas farmers. This non-GMO grain is milled, mashed, fermented and distilled on-site – ensuring that every sip captures the true essence of Texas.

Aged in sustainably sourced oak barrels, each whisky brings out the natural flavors of the wood, while Texas’ unique climate adds an extra note of character – ensuring each bottle reflects the influence of the region.

“As we looked at the inspiring American craft whiskey landscape, we were intrigued by the incredible production of Texas distilleries as the state has established itself as a key region for whiskey production in the U.S.,” said George Koutsakis, founder of Barrel Global, in a press release. “Still Austin, in particular, really intrigued the Barrel Global team with its commitment to sourcing grains from local farmers and using sustainable practices, while showcasing the vibrancy of Austin and the larger Texas whiskey movement through its packaging and award-winning whiskey portfolio.”

Through the online portal www.barrelglobal.com, customers can schedule an appointment with a representative of the company’s bourbon experts to request a barrel reservation. Customers can request samples of various Still Austin barrels to truly customize their selection. After payment, the buyer is issued a legal certificate transferring full barrel rights.

During the aging process, the barrels are stored in Still Austin’s warehouses in Texas. During this time, owners can schedule visits to the distillery or warehouse to check their barrel – and take samples to check flavor profile and color.

At the bottling stage, Barrel Global facilitates the design, packaging and legal shipping of the bottles. Barrel Global further customizes the experience by allowing consumers to create personalized labels. For buyers who want to sell bottles commercially, Barrel Global helps obtain a COLA (label/bottle approval certification/exemption) and comply with the three-tier system – both legal requirements for buying and selling spirits in the U.S. market. Additionally, the customer can resell the barrel to another interested party at any point in time while in possession of it.

In addition to Still Austin Whiskey Company, Barrel Global’s current distillery partners include Kings County Distillery in New York, Dueling Grounds Distillery in Franklin, Kentucky, and Law’s Whiskey House in Colorado. For hotels and retail outlets, Barrel Global also offers immediate inventory of aged whiskeys from Kentucky-based Green River Distilling Co.
