Bengaluru-Patna flight makes emergency landing in Nagpur after passenger suffers seizure | Bengaluru

An IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Patna was diverted to Nagpur on Friday when a passenger showed severe symptoms, including shaking and loss of consciousness.

An IndiGo flight en route from Bengaluru, capital of Karnataka, to Patna had to be diverted for an emergency landing at Nagpur airport on Friday after a passenger suffered a serious medical crisis during the flight. The incident occurred when the passenger, whose name was not disclosed, showed alarming symptoms such as severe shaking, loss of consciousness and stiffness of the body, a report by news agency PTI said.

After the emergency landing, the passenger was immediately rushed to KIMS Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur. A senior hospital official spoke to the media and said that the initial medical examination suggests that the passenger may be suffering from a seizure disorder. The patient is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital’s emergency department, the report said.

The decision to land the aircraft in Nagpur was taken swiftly by the flight crew in response to the medical emergency to ensure that the passenger received urgent care. The airline has not yet released an official statement or further details about the incident or the passenger’s condition.

The flight originally scheduled to fly to Patna was rebooked so that the journey could continue after the emergency was resolved.
