Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves hopes Angela Murray wins BB AI Instigator Power

A new power will be unleashed upon the Big Brother game of season 26, and Julie Chen Moonves wants Angela Murray to win.

After the fourth eviction of the season, Moonves announced a new power called the BB AI Instigator. America would vote on which candidate would have the power and create chaos in the house.

In an interview with EWMoonves initially said she wanted to give Quinn Martin the power because “he loves to cause chaos,” later adding, “But I want Angela to have it!”

The AI instigator’s power would take the form of an AI avatar, with the chosen housemate saying things out of their own pocket that could lead to even more drama. Murray won her second HOH of the season last week, but Martin’s deepfake HOH power hijacked her power. Instead of Murray making the nominations this week, Martin took control and an AI avatar in the form of Murray delivered the news to the house.

Murray has been an agent of chaos since winning the first Head of Household competition of the season. The reality show contestant was unpredictable and made moves that would have taken her out of the game much quicker.

Some viewers have even theorized that Murray is just a production machine to add drama to the game.

“I mean, good idea,” executive producer Allison Grodner jokingly told Deadline.

EP Rich Meehan added: “It was so fun to watch her, so unexpected. With all of these things, I can’t necessarily blame people for wondering, because it was surprising and shocking along the way. But it’s always funny, the conspiracy theories that are out there.”

The AI instigator will be revealed in the episode airing Sunday, August 25 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
