Bill Clinton praises Kamala Harris and mocks Trump’s narcissism

Former President Bill Clinton said at the Democratic Party Convention on Wednesday: “In 2024, we face a clear choice: ‘We the people’ versus ‘Me, myself, and me.'”

β€œI know what I like better for our country,” Clinton said.

Vice President: “Kamala Harris will work to solve problems, seize opportunities, ease our fears and ensure that every single American, no matter how they vote, has the chance to achieve their dreams,” said the former president, who served two terms in the White House until January 2001.

“Kamala Harris is the only candidate in this race with the vision, the experience, the temperament, the will and yes – the sheer joy – to do that on good days and bad. To be our voice,” he said of the Democratic presidential candidate.

Clinton’s wife, Hillary Clinton, lost the 2016 election to former President Donald Trump, the current Republican presidential candidate.

At the beginning of her speech, Clinton made a deliberate joke at Trump’s expense.

“Let’s get down to business: There’s too much at stake and I’m too old to brag,” Clinton said. “Actually, I turned 78 two days ago. And I’m not quite as old as Donald Trump.”

Clinton also confronted Trump with Harris

“Donald Trump is a model of consistency,” Clinton said. “He still divides, he still blames others, he still demeans others.”

β€œHe creates chaos and then curates it as if it were precious art.”

“Next time you hear him, don’t count the lies. Count the ‘I’s,'” Clinton quipped after noting that Trump “mostly talks about himself.”

“His vendettas, his revenge, his grievances, his conspiracies: he’s like one of those tenors who open up before they go on stage, like I did, and try to open their lungs by saying ‘I, I, I, I.'”

“When Kamala Harris is president, every day will start with ‘you, you, you, you.'”

NBC News reported that Clinton tore up the previous draft of his speech on Monday after seeing on the first night of the convention,

A Clinton aide said Clinton was moved by the energy and enthusiasm seen in Chicago and wanted to reflect that in his revised speech on Wednesday.
