Flash twice begins with the introduction of Slater King (Channing Tatum), a billionaire and former CEO who owns his own private island.

Frida (Naomi Ackie), a cocktail waitress, and her friend Jess (Alia Shawkat) mingle with Slater and his friends during the gala after pretending to be part of the party.

The chemistry between Frida and Slater is undeniable, as if they had met before. The pair get along well and it even leads to Slater inviting Frida and Jess to spend a weekend with him and his friends on his private island.

Frida, Jess and Slater are joined on the island by his assistant Stacy (Geena Davis), his business partners Vic (Christian Slater), Cody (Simon Rex), Tom (Haley Joel Osment) and Lucas (Levon Hawke), as well as three beautiful female guests: Sarah (Adria Arjona), Camilla (Liz Caribel) and Heather (Trew Mullen).

It is quite interesting that the girls on the island receive special treatment and that the staff gives them lots of free gifts, such as fine perfume and free access to almost everything.

What happened to Frida’s friend Jess?

Everyone seems to be having fun on the island and a montage shows a good time full of alcohol, flirting and laughter.

However, things take a turn after Frida’s friend Jess is bitten by a snake. This pivotal moment is the beginning of a gradual reveal of the film’s twist, with Jess at its center.

Jess tells Frida that “Something is wrong here”, She stresses that she wants to leave the island as soon as possible. The only problem is that they do not have access to their phones and transportation, which makes it difficult for them to leave.

The next morning, however, Jess is nowhere to be found, which frightened Frida.

What makes matters worse: none of the other girls remember who Jess is.

Fortunately, a nurse convinces Frida to drink snake venom from a battle, which brings back her memories and she realizes with horror that she has forgotten much of what happened since her first night on the island.

It is later revealed that Jess, who remembered everything, was killed by Slater the other night, much to Frida’s shock.

The film reveals that Slater King and his business partners have a hidden agenda toward the women they brought to the island as guests.

Eventually it turns out that the perfume given to the women was laced with poison that erased their memory.

In a series of flashbacks, it is revealed that the women were sexually abused by Slater and his business partners and their memories were erased by the poison after they used the perfume the next day.

It remains to be seen how often these sadistic and nefarious acts were committed against the women, but it seems that this happened repeatedly throughout their stay.

At some point, Frida notices that her nails are dirty, while Sarah has bruises on her shoulder.

Flash twice means that there is no poison that can induce amnesia and cover up the dehumanizing acts of violent men.

How do Frida and Sarah remember the terrible events?

Frida manages to convince Sarah to expose what Slater and his friends are doing after she realizes that snake venom neutralizes the poison the perpetrators have been using on her all this time.

The two work together to help Camilla, Heather and Stacey remember by drinking tequila disguised as snake venom.

The effects of the snake’s venom eventually trigger the memories of the remaining women, leading to a chaotic bloodbath in which they (except for Stacey) fight back and kill most of the men who mistreated them on the island.

Camilla kills Tom on the spot, while Heather injures Vic so badly that he wishes he were dead instead. However, Heather is killed by Slater’s private security guard Stan (Cris Costa), while Camilla is later kidnapped and killed by Slater.

Stan is later murdered by Sarah after saving Frida from harm. Stacey, who remains loyal to Slater despite her memory, is killed by Frida.

Although the women regained their memories, it is quite unfortunate that the traumatic events will remain in their minds for a while. The film addresses the darkness in a way that paints a disturbing picture of abuse and makes viewers reflect on this particular problem in today’s society.

Amid a tense standoff between Friga and Slater, he reveals another twist, telling her that she had already been invited to the island a year ago and experienced the same abuse in brutal fashion before her memories were erased by the poison.

Slater gives a speech about how “Forgetting is a gift” and points to the enormous possibilities a person is capable of if he or she could be freed from his or her suffering, pain and trauma.

When Slater goes to pick up Sarah, Frida takes the opportunity to infect his e-cigarette with the poison.

Slater is close to killing Sarah before the poison takes effect and makes him forget the previous events. When he sees the bodies of his friends, he panics and falls unconscious when he stumbles upon Camila’s body.

The mansion burns down and Frida and Sarah must escape and survive another day.

However, there is another twist as it is revealed that Frida saved Slater. A time jump reveals that Frida is now Slater’s wife and CEO of his company, and is still using the same drug to manipulate him and keep him submissive no matter what.

Essentially, this is her way of getting revenge for all the abuse and torture she and the women on the island have suffered over the years.

While Slater’s death could have been the justice desired by all the victims, Frida’s plan to keep him alive and torture him suggests that, now that she has the upper hand, she wants to see him suffer forever, implying that death is not a solution as it is the easy way out.

Flash twice is now playing in cinemas worldwide.
