Blue Jays vs. A’s: Predictions, Picks, Odds – 8-11

Only one runner reached home base in Saturday’s game between the A’s and the Blue Jays, and with two solid starters on the mound this afternoon, the under is once again our goal.

This afternoon, two of the American League’s underdogs face off when the Toronto Blue Jays host the Oakland A’s in the series decider — and a red-hot Vladimir Guerrero Jr. looks to extend his 22-game hitting streak.

A home run by Brent Rooker made the difference as Oakland earned a 1-0 victory in yesterday’s game, aided by a stellar performance from Osvaldo Bido and the bullpen, who limited Toronto to just two hits.

My A’s vs. Blue Jays predictions and MLB tips are the real betting tips for this August 11 clash at the Rogers Centre.

A’s vs Blue Jays Prediction

My best bet
Below 8.5 (-112 for PROLINE+)

My analysis
We’ve seen a lot of aggressive swings in this series so far, but there hasn’t been much damage on the scoreboard: The Toronto Blue Jays pulled off a 3-1 win on Friday, and yesterday the teams allowed just a single run.

That seems to be a repeating trend this afternoon, as two solid starters head to the mound — and the under is a good number at 8.5 runs total. That’s been a win-win in five of the last six meetings between these teams, and the under is 62-52 overall for the Oakland A’s this year.

Oakland left-hander JP Sears comes into this contest after two consecutive impressive starts. He has pitched seven innings in each of his last two outings and allowed just one run. His ERA is 3.07 in his last five starts.

Then there’s Chris Bassitt, the former A’s who has posted a 3.95 ERA this season despite a rough patch in July. He’s been successful against Oakland, with a 2.31 ERA in five career starts, and on Tuesday he was at his best against the Orioles, striking out nine batters in seven innings.

It’s also hard to trust this offense. Only the Mariners and White Sox have a lower batting average and fewer hits than the A’s, while this Blue Jays lineup has been hit and miss, aside from Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Toronto is still without Bo Bichette and failed to get a single hit from the bottom half of the lineup yesterday. It doesn’t help that George Springer and Alejandro Kirk are hitting .176 and .189, respectively, against left-handers this year.

This decisive game of the series has the character of a pitcher’s duel, with both teams struggling to score baserunners. I’m betting on the under.

Prop for Blue Jays star player

My best bet
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 RBI (+145 at PROLINE+)

My analysis
Who else? Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s numbers this month are ridiculous. With a .520 batting average and six RBIs in August, he somehow topped his stellar .358 mark in July.

Vladdy has rediscovered the form that made him one of the game’s best hitters, putting together an impressive streak of at-bats just as talks of a contract extension are gaining momentum. and the number of contracts increases every week.

His .322 average ranks fourth in the major leagues and I expect him to lead Toronto’s offense again this afternoon and extend his hit streak to 23 games. He hasn’t seen much of Sears he has 0 out of 3 but he sees the ball so well at the moment that this price is simply irresistible.
