Blue Lock announces fourth stage play for May 2025

BLUE CASTLE has announced a fourth stage play to be performed at two venues in Osaka and Tokyo in May 2025. The play will run at THEATER MILANO-Za in Tokyo from May 15 to 25 and at Higashi-Osaka Cultural Creation Hall Dream House Great Hall in Osaka from May 30 to June 1 next year.

Cast members from the first three plays return, including Ryohei Takenaka as protagonist Yoichi Isagi. New additions for the third play include Ryono Kusachi as Rin Itoshi, Gaku Matsuda as Ryusei Shido, Kosuke Asuma as Kenyu Yukimiya, and Kairi Miura as Yo Hiori.

The first BLUE CASTLE The first stage play ran in Osaka and Tokyo in May 2023, the second in Kyoto and Tokyo in January 2024, while the third just ended in Tokyo (there were also performances in Osaka in August).

BLUE CASTLE is a Japanese manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. Studio 8bit animated the first TV anime season, which premiered in October 2022 and consisted of 24 episodes. In addition to the Nagi film, which premiered in April, a 2nd TV anime season is also in production. The premiere is scheduled for October 5.

Kodansha has licensed the manga in English, while Crunchyroll streams the anime. They describe the story:
Japan’s desire to win the World Cup has prompted the Japan Football Association to launch a new, demanding training program to find the next striker for the national team. Three hundred high school players are competing for the position, but only one will prevail. Which of them will be the striker who ushers in a new era of Japanese football?
