Blue Pony volleyball coach encouraged as season begins this week – Hi-Line Today

Havre High’s volleyball season is set to begin Friday with a series of games that span two days of competition at the Helena Tip-Off. Ahead, New Media Broadcasters caught up with Ponies volleyball coach Cassie Krueger, who spoke about the recent Blue/White Scrimmage that took place last weekend. She said how encouraged she is with the progress her players have made in just their second season at the helm.

“Some of the biggest takeaways have been how good our starting position is in this second season under my leadership,” Krueger said. “The girls have really adapted and improved their fundamentals and knowledge of the game. It’s less work to start the season, so we can make a little leap forward.”

“Their offensive strategies are fantastic. Our setters are hitting where we want them to,” Krueger continued. “The hitters are hitting the ball away and the defense has been just fantastic.”

Now that the season has officially begun, Coach Krueger gave New Media Broadcasters listeners a glimpse of the chaos that will break out in Helena as the Ponies face many different teams early in play.

“We have 10 games this weekend,” Krueger said. “Some of the opponents will be extremely difficult, so it will be very exciting to see how we fare against them.”

“We start Friday morning at 10:45 against Billings Central and also play teams like Hardin, Fergus and Dawson County,” Krueger continued. “It’s going to be a really fun weekend to see where we are overall and compete against these good opponents.”

Updates on Friday and Saturday’s Blue Pony volleyball games from Helena will be posted on the Havre High Volleyball Facebook page. The NFHS Network will also broadcast the Helena Tip-Off Tournament Friday through Saturday.
