Body of New Jersey fitness trainer found in Vermont river

The body of a New Jersey fitness coach who disappeared while swimming in Vermont has been found, authorities said.

Tuan Baldino, 35, was recovered from the Mad River near Warren Falls in Warren on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Vermont State Police.

Baldino, of Paramus, was first reported missing Saturday in the Cascades section of Warren Falls, a popular natural water park.

Tuan Baldino, 35, worked as a personal trainer.

The falls and surrounding river remained closed after high and fast-flowing water levels made rescue efforts difficult, state police said.

“Vermont State Police warns the public that even after the area reopens to the public, dangerous conditions are expected to continue and that swimming or jumping into the river should be avoided,” the statement said.

During the search, several tree trunks were also pulled out of the water, officials added.

Baldino’s death is not considered suspicious.

Baldino often shared photos of his training sessions.
Tuan Baldino lived in Paramus, New Jersey. It is not clear why he was in Vermont.

Baldino ran a personal training service called Fitness Gainz Academy and also trained clients at other local gyms, according to his social media channels.

He graduated from Bergen Community College with an associate degree in exercise science and also earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kean University.

In April 2018, Baldino sent some much-needed encouragement to his Facebook friends.

“Always remember to appreciate what you have, not what you don’t have,” he wrote. “You only have one life, so live yours to the fullest and without regrets.”
