A week after endorsing Harris as a presidential candidate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is embarking on a fundraising tour of the Northeast, including hosting a reception in Boston.
It is “his first fundraiser,” Walz said Monday morning when announcing his tour, which begins on Tuesday, August 13, with an event in Newport Beach on the West Coast.
Walz plans to attend a fundraiser in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday, August 14, before heading to New England, where he will make another campaign stop in Boston the same day.
The Harris-Walz campaign declined to provide details of the hub event to State House News Service.
The event is planned at a Back Bay hotel and will include a dinner before the reception, State House News Service has learned. Admission is $25,000, with a maximum suggested donation of $100,000, according to an RSVP page.
Former U.S. Ambassador Alan Solomont and philanthropist Susan Solomont are listed as hosts on an invitation, along with Bryan Rafanelli and Mark Walsh, event planners who are often involved in organizing major events for Democratic candidates.
On Thursday, August 15, Walz has scheduled campaign events in Newport, Rhode Island and Southampton, Long Island, New York.
