Brian Kelley promises to remain himself with new single

“Put Myself On” is released before the second album

Brian Kelley, a strong-willed and independent artist who isn’t afraid to speak his truth, the diamond-selling superstar celebrates his birthday today (Monday, August 26) with the release of the first song from his upcoming sophomore album, titled “Put Myself On.”

“This is the first song from my album coming out this fall. This album is very special,” Kelley shares on Instagram. “All brand new songs that will be released right after the release of Tennessee Trutheverything written by me only.”

Like all his next projects – the successor to his debut album Tennessee Truth via Big Machine Records – Kelley wrote “Put Myself On” entirely by himself, reflecting his commitment to absolute authenticity in every aspect of his craft.

With equal parts passion, power and razor-sharp wit, the blunt track declares his refusal to play by the rules, and deftly throws in a few sly nods to heroes like Hank Williams Jr. Produced by Katlin Owen and Caleb Gilbreath and recorded live with Kelley’s touring band, “Put Myself On,” with its raw beats and blistering guitar riffs, builds to a brooding intensity in its final moment, as he delivers a lyric that sums up his overarching mission with his music: “I’m doing it my way / I’m doing it with a song / I look back and say I put myself through the motions.” The result is a fiery statement that opens Kelley’s most powerful chapter yet.

As “Acres” gains traction on country radio after being the most-recorded Top 3 single at launch, he is playing this current single and more during the fall broadcast of his Surf Post Sessions. After a sold-out run this summer, Kelley’s main performances are back in the backyard of Tribe Kelley Surf Post in Grayton Beach, FL. Tribe Kelley Surf Post is run by Kelley and his wife Brittney and is fully stocked with Tribe Kelley branded items.

Next, Kelley will open the fourth annual Big Machine Music City Grand Prix during IndyCar Championship Weekend by headlining the free multi-artist Freedom Friday concert on Broadway in downtown Nashville on Sept. 13 in the Big Machine Cavalcade Of Stars slot. The event honors members of the military, police, firefighters, first responders and frontline heroes. He is also scheduled to play the iHeartCountry FanZone Stage the next day.
