CAL flight experiences “technical problem”, lands safely in Piarco

Caribbean Airlines said a flight that experienced a “technical problem” on Sunday landed safely at Piarco International Airport.

In an update on Sunday, the airline said the aircraft had been temporarily taken out of service for inspection following the incident.

Caribbean Airlines reports that flight BW 1509 between Tobago and Trinidad experienced a technical problem on Sunday, August 18, en route to Trinidad. Specifically, a warning light came on in the cockpit.

The pilots initiated the appropriate operating procedure and the aircraft landed safely and taxied to a gate position at Piarco International Airport, where all passengers and crew disembarked.

In accordance with regulations, the aircraft has been temporarily taken out of service and all necessary inspections and procedures are being carried out. Once these are completed, the aircraft will be released.
