Cambria County sex offender allegedly sent explicit photo to online group

Authorities in Cambria County say a local sex offender charged this week in the alleged rape of a teenage relative already faces charges for allegedly sending a sexually explicit photo to members of an online group posing as a teenage girl.

According to police, charges were filed last week against 41-year-old Zachary Kinkead Sr. of Upper Yoder Township after he allegedly encountered members of the 814 Pred Hunters.

According to the affidavit, police were contacted in June after Kinkead allegedly arranged a meeting at Moxham Sheetz with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

Investigators say Kinkead sent the decoy several sexual messages, including a photo of his genitals.

According to police, Kinkead was identified based on the background images in the photo as well as his picture on Megan’s Law.

According to online court records, Kinkead was arraigned last week on charges of unauthorized contact with a minor, criminal use of a communications device and corruption of minors.

Kinkead was charged on Wednesday after being accused of sexually abusing a teenage relative in 2017.

He is being held in the Cambria County Jail and bail in the case has been set at $75,000.
