Estée Lauder CEO announces resignation
Fabrizio Freda will step down as president and CEO of The Estée Lauder Companies at the end of fiscal year 2025, the company said, noting that the board is well advanced in selecting his successor. “Leading The Estée Lauder Companies for sixteen years has been and continues to be a true honor and privilege,” Freda said in a statement. “I am so proud of our company’s incredible accomplishments and of having built the most talented, dedicated and passionate team in the industry.” {Estée Lauder Companies}

Kendall Jenner helps launch Tory Burch’s new fragrance
Kendall Jenner is the face of Sublime, Tory Burch’s latest fragrance that reflects the designer’s vision of women today who balance sensuality and strength. “Sublime is the ultimate feeling you want to have: confident, sensual, strong,” Burch said in a statement. “It’s a word and an emotion that has no end… It makes you feel like anything is possible.” The fragrance — with notes of leather, delicate rose, osmanthus flower, vetiver and mandarin — is available online and at Ulta and Tory Burch retail stores. {Fashionista Inbox}

Fashion Scholarship Fund Appoints Head of Virgil Abloh ‘Post-Modern’ Scholarship Fund
Farai Simoyi was appointed head of the Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund and Equity on August 19. WWD reported. She will oversee the scholarship program and its expansion, as well as lead pilot programs to promote Black talent in the industry, working with Shannon Abloh and Peter Arnold. Ted Baker closes last store
The remaining 31 Ted Baker stores are set to close their doors by the end of the day on Tuesday, August 20, according to the BBC, putting 500 jobs at risk. No Ordinary Designer Label, which owns the brand, filed for bankruptcy in March; sales were already falling after allegations of inappropriate behavior were made against founder Rey Kelvin in 2019. It is unclear whether US-based Authentic Brands Group, which owns Ted Baker’s intellectual property, will revive the brand. {BBC}
