International hotel operator RedDoorz has announced plans to develop more affordable hotel accommodation in Bali.
The announcement comes as travel trends show that travelers prefer private villas to hotels for vacation accommodation on the island.
RedDoorz founder and CEO Amit Saberwal spoke to reporters in Bali this week and said: “We hope to attract more partners, continue to grow and continue to invest in Bali.”
As a company, RedDoorz brings together existing hotel operations, predominantly in the budget hotel sector, and offers partners staff training, access to the RedDoorz brand, booking systems and supporting digital services.
RedDoorz is already active in Indonesia and other destinations in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Singapore and the Philippines.

RedDoorz recently added 200 real estate partners to its portfolio in Bali and Nusa Tenggara.
These accommodations include hotels and private villas, offering tourists an additional 1,700 room options in the region.
By the end of December 2024, RedDoorz intends to have 270 property partners for Bali and Nusa Tenggara in its portfolio and increase this number to 400 properties by the end of 2025.

This initiative also complements Indonesia’s overall mission to promote Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara as a combined travel region.
The area, which will be known as Bali Nusra, will be marketed to international holidaymakers and travelers as a region that offers deep cultural immersion, easy travel, and both luxurious and budget-friendly adventures.
In the coming years, tourism developers in Bali will work with leading tourism operators in West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara provinces to upgrade tourism offerings to a world-class level that is widely available throughout Bali.

As travel trends show that tourists are increasingly interested in villa accommodation, RedDoorz is committed to providing affordable villas in addition to hotels to tourists across Indonesia.
Under Lavana’s RedDoorz brand, the company has partnered with 80 villa operators and hopes to increase that number to 100 properties in the Bali and Lombok region by the end of the year. Sabwerwal confirmed: “Overall, we continue to invest millions of dollars in Indonesia.”
While budget accommodation from companies like RedDoorz covers a large part of the travel market in Bali, boutique and luxury travel in Bali continues to flourish.
Speaking to reporters in Bali this week, Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council of the Association of Indonesian Hospitality Leaders (AHLI) Bali, Sang Putu Eka Pertama, confirmed that he and his teams are observing tourists opting more for boutique hotels when booking resort holidays.
Pertama said: “The trend of tourists staying in boutique hotels has increased following the Covid-19 pandemic.”
He pointed out that boutique hotels focus on “personal service, a family atmosphere and absolute tranquility”, all criteria that are becoming increasingly important for travelers to Bali.
According to Pertama, tourists increasingly prefer more spacious surroundings, a greener, more natural atmosphere and accommodation options for overnight stays.
