Helldivers 2’s latest Major Order should have been hard enough to complete all weekend, but cheaters seem to have plowed through the community mission in just a few hours.
Just yesterday, developer Arrowhead Game Studios revealed the community’s next shared goal, which would normally have been active for four full days. “The darkness has continued to spread, blanketing intergalactic space with an impenetrable cloud of Terminid spores,” the developer tweeted at the time. “The Helldivers must obtain samples of organic Terminid matter from the planets closest to the darkness. This endeavor will be critical to figuring out how to prevent further spread.”

Helldivers then had three goals: to collect 45 million common samples on level 43, 15 million rare samples on Erson Sands, and 10 million rare samples on Crimsica. Even if you’re looking for samples in Helldivers 2, these are pretty absurd numbers, which is why many divers call this mission “impossible.”
Less than a day later, the Major Order suddenly disappeared from the game. When opening the main menu, a “Waiting for Major Order” message appears, which reads “Stand by for further orders from the Super Earth High Command,” in the place where the actual Major Order would normally appear.
Everyone said this approach was impossible, from r/Helldivers
Helldivers on the game’s main subreddit are reporting that the gauges for every Major Order objective – which, again, required literally millions of samples – filled up within minutes of each other. Every single person who ever bought the game would have to coordinate and exit a mission at exactly the same time to pull that off naturally. But no one invited me to that party, so I’m guessing it didn’t happen.
With or without hackers, the High Command’s latest request was bound to cause problems, as at least a vocal portion of the player base has adopted the “Chaos Diver” lifestyle and decided to rebel against Super Earth by ignoring any major order, which was also the reason the previous order failed.
Helldivers 2 players worry about the future as bots approach Super Earth: “I bet Arrowhead doesn’t have a Super Earth biome ready yet.”
