FirstEnergy President Torrence Hinton is expected to speak about the remaining outages.

As of Monday morning, power has been restored to over 98% of customers. Last week’s storms caused the largest widespread power outage in 31 years – more than 470,000 customers were without power, according to FirstEnergy.

While power has been restored in most communities, many communities experienced property damage, food loss and a lack of access to essential goods.

News 5 and the Scripps Howard Fund have teamed up for a tornado and flood relief textathon benefiting the Red Cross.
