Ava Hunt starts her freshman year at Southern Methodist University in style.
The 18-year-old daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt settled into her dorm room at the Texas institution last week. Her mother, Tavia Hunt, posted new photos of the abode, which features plenty of pink accessories, including a neon sign above the bed and a dreamy vanity.
“Today I left a piece of my heart at SMU. Ava Hunt, you have always been a mix of sunshine and hurricane – fierce, fearless, and capable of incredible things. I am so excited for you, even as I save my tears for later. I wade through emotions as I walk past your now too-clean room, the house is too quiet without your laughter, and Chief and I already miss the familiar scent of your Sol de Janeiro body spray,” Tavia shared in a heartfelt Instagram post on August 23.
“I know you will come back often and that this will mean a new adventure and freedom for both of us… yet I pray fervently for your safety, wisdom, and for a tribe of new sisters who love Jesus and you. May God bless you and watch over you – He has never let me down and He will not let you down. I am excited for the lessons you will learn about God’s faithfulness in the coming months. Watching you shine your light and grow into the most beautiful version of yourself makes my heart beat a little happier. You worked so hard to get here. Everything you do from now on is for you – for your success, happiness, and God’s glory. Acts 20:24 Take care of yourself. Sleep well. Trust in yourself. Ava, who underwent emergency surgery following a horrific hiking accident earlier this month, is on the mend and announced in March that she had joined the SMU cheerleading team.
In April, she attended her final spring dance before graduating in May.
It was an epic senior year for Ava, who mingled with Taylor Swift at Arrowhead Stadium in December as the pop superstar cheered on her boyfriend, Kansas City star tight end Travis Kelce.
Ava and the Hunt family later opened 2024 with a second consecutive Super Bowl victory after the Chiefs defeated the 49ers 25-22 in overtime in Las Vegas.
The Chiefs, who defeated the Eagles in the 2023 Super Bowl, begin their quest for a third consecutive Super Bowl victory on Thursday, Sept. 5 when they host the Ravens at Arrowhead.
Kansas City defeated Baltimore in the AFC Championship Game in January en route to the Super Bowl in February.
