City of Glass video by AJ Lee & Blue Summit

With the release of a new vinyl LP on Signature Sounds Recordings, AJ Lee & Blue Summit have also produced a music video for the title track. City of Glass.

It’s a grass number written by AJ with her touring group – Scott Gates and Sullivan Tuttle on guitars, Jan Murat on fiddle and Forrest Marowitz on bass. Lee sings and plays mandolin, Gates provides harmony vocals and Luke Abbot accompanies her on banjo.

The concept of a city of glass has a long history in literature. Many modern books use this title. This image was also frequently found in Russian dystopian novels. Wewritten by Yevgeny Zamyatin. Especially in the early 20th century, the concept of a city made of glass seemed absurd, both for practical reasons and for reasons of stability, not to mention privacy.

Lee uses this expression to make it clear that glass is made of sand and that when it breaks, it turns back into sand.

In the music video we see AJ and the band performing City of Glass in a number of different settings as this pleasant, relaxed song rolls along.

City of GlassBoth the album and the single are available now on popular online download and streaming services. Audio CDs and vinyl LPs can be purchased from Blue Summit’s website. Radio programmers can request airplay copies from Signature Sounds.

The Californian band AJ Lee & Blue Summit will be touring mainly on the east coast over the next few months, so fans far from home will have plenty of opportunities to see them live. You can find all the dates online.
