Community gathers to remember late APD Officer Bianca Quintana

Dozens of people gathered at Tom Tenorio Park on Sunday evening to honor the life of APD Officer Bianca Quintana.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Dozens of people gathered at Tom Tenorio Park Sunday night to honor the life of Albuquerque police officer Bianca Quintana.

Quintana died early Wednesday morning after police believe a driver struck her and drove away.

People KOB 4 spoke to said Quintana was always positive and the life of every party. Her children say she was the best mother in the world.

“This time, everyone had the opportunity to prepare and come here. This shows how many people she touched. There are family, friends, colleagues, APD officers. This shows how great the burden was and how many people she touched,” said David Quintana, Bianca’s husband.

Quintana leaves behind her husband and two sons. If you would like to help them during this difficult time, they have set up a GoFundMe account.

Police are still searching for the person who is believed to have killed Quintana. Bernalillo County officials believe a Volkswagen was involved in the crash. It is still unclear what make or model it was.

Police are asking anyone in the area who has video footage from Coors Boulevard south of the Rio Bravo to check their surveillance systems and report any information that may be helpful to the investigation.
