The second annual Community Prayer for Fredericktown R-1 Schools will be held on Sunday, August 18th at 6:00 p.m. in front of Kelly A. Burlison Middle School.
The group will meet for a group prayer and then get back in their vehicles to circle each of the schools, praying individually for the students and all staff who will be serving in the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. The route will begin at the middle school and then travel through the cordoned off area to the soccer field and on to the middle school. The route will continue to the elementary school and then back to the preschool, bus depot, alternative school, high school and finally to the administrative offices.
Organizers of the event, representing many churches, say their goal is to come together as “one body” to pray for the safety and protection of Fredericktown R-1 students and staff and to ask for guidance and wisdom in making good decisions.
Fifty people from nine churches attended the prayer event last year, just days before the start of the 2023-2024 school year. Organizers hope many more churches will participate this year. Everyone is welcome to attend.
