Cub Tracks lets off steam

WELCOME to today’s episode of Cub Tracks News and Notes™a greatest hits collection of Chicago style Beat writers and bloggers, floor from #Boys#MiLBAnd #MLB Baseball, overheated, permeated by Tears of the writersand then cold brewed overnight for maximum spice. No artificial intelligence was used, employed, enchanted or embalmed in the making of this writing (apparently I am some train although). Cub tracks eagerly awaits the introduction of robot referees and has already changed the three laws. It’s funny. Cub tracks I became a professional a long time ago.

Cub tracks. Where the big ones run away.

Justin Steele (3-5, 3.33) took the mound to face Chris Flexen (2-11, 5.53) at Guaranteed Rate Field. The Cubs absolutely had to win the game, out of respect. The Grady Sizemore Sox are hoping for their first win under the new boss.

The game remained scoreless until the White Sox broke through with a single run in the second inning. The North Siders continued to stay RISP-like until Flexen left the field after four innings of 78 pitches thrown. The Cubs scored in the fifth inning, taking Steele out of the firing line.

Things went wrong for the White Sox in the eighth inning.

The ninth inning was interesting, and it wasn’t Hector Neris’ fault, but the Cubs managed the sweep.
