As we approach the most important date in Apple’s calendar – the launch of the new iPhones – which, according to this leak, is expected on September 10th – one big rumor still needs to be clarified: the color of the new iPhone 16 Pro.
Apple traditionally offers a black, a white and probably a gray option (but with nicer names), and then at least one option that offers something special for the new generation.
Leaker Majin Bu tweeted a sort of invitation to the Apple event, revealing (as we expected) the date and the possible central theme – “Ready. Set. Capture.” – which is pleasantly camera-centric, and perhaps the color tone of the Apple is also significant.
All other things being equal, I might call this color “copper” (which would be great), and some use the term “bronze,” which makes sense, but Apple has a history with rose gold. In addition, Bu has another tweet that supposedly shows real photos of the phone in a color that he very clearly describes as gold:
Will we get both? Or one of the two? Can we even trust these pictures? Bu also has a pinned tweet showing multiple colors of the ‘iPhone Air’, so it’s possible he’s just a bit more creative than some people with an image editor!
In any case, the new iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to be one of the best camera phones based on past experience and the other leaks and rumors about the iPhone 16 series. These paint a picture of a new “record button” that will be found across the phone range – not just the Pro models. This is supposed to work like a shutter button and make sense of the launch event title, if true.
A visual change is expected for the non-Pro iPhones: The two cameras will be arranged vertically instead of diagonally, allowing them to record “spatial video” (for Apple’s Vision Pro – and perhaps other platforms in the future).
