The eagerly awaited DC All-In Special #1 is the official launch of DC Comics’ new initiative, and today we got a first look at the upcoming 64-page single issue. The special will be released on October 2nd and is written by Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson, with art by Daniel Sampere and Wes Craig.
The special “reintroduces Darkseid as he was meant to be. The greatest villain of the DCU,” Snyder said on July 17. “Darkseid begins to realize that something has always been missing. He senses that something has changed, and when he realizes that, he goes on a quest.” Darkseid will then clash with a new Justice League.
Artist Daniel Sampere has shared his double-sided layout featuring one of the heroes, some of whom show off their Justice League cards.

The page appears to give readers an overview of major characters and events and their possible connection to the Justice League. While Superman floats at the top of the page, the first of three lines shows Batman and Superman possibly being burned from another universe, Nightwing and Jon Kent fighting in the Hall of Justice, the explosion of Lazarus, Deadman displaying all kinds of anger, animal versions of Black Adam, Batman, Power Girl, Brainiac looking at his creation Queen Brainiac, and the floating Amazos.
The third and final row shows Starfire flying, seemingly with a card in her hand, Blue Beetle discussing something with his parents, Roy Harper bragging about his Justice League card, Robotman seemingly rejecting the idea of joining the Justice League, Metamorpho considering it, Supergirl loving it, Damian Wayne throwing away his card, and finally Fire and Ice ready to join.
