Disney plans to revamp a “controversial” section of the classic Fantasyland ride

Disney plans to redesign a “controversial” section of the Peter Pan’s Flight attraction at Disneyland because of its depictions of Native Americans.

“Peter Pan’s Flight” was one of the first rides at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California when it opened to the public in 1955.

The attraction has recently come under fire for portraying tribal members as “caricatures” of Native Americans.

The update to the Disneyland ride came as Walt Disney World updated its version of the Peter Pan Flight ride to remove the controversial references.

Before the changes, Tiger Lily and her tribe sat around a fire while other tribe members drummed in the background.

The tribe’s members also had exaggerated facial features, such as feather headdresses and large noses.

In the updated version in Orlando, Tiger Lily dances around the fire with her grandmother while men drum in the background.

Disney said visitors can expect these changes at all of its theme parks worldwide.

However, the company has not set a firm date for when this would happen for each variant of the trip.
