Disney’s Port Orleans Resort is divided into two sections: French Quarter and Riverside. Port Orleans French Quarter celebrates the history and vibrancy of the iconic New Orleans neighborhood, while Port Orleans Riverside evokes the lush tranquility of rural Louisiana.

On Wednesday, Walt Disney World Resort guests took to Reddit to share their thoughts on Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter.
“Port Orleans (both resorts) are incredibly themed and beautiful resorts that make you feel like you’re on your own vacation, away from the hustle and bustle of the parks,” said Redditor u/IDriveAZamboni. “They’re very Disney-esque.”
“Port Orleans is one of the most Disney-esque resorts anywhere,” agreed u/LOFan80. “The entire resort has an amazing theme running throughout. A fully themed pool and beautiful grounds.”
Some say the true magic of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort lies in its cast.
“We love Riverside and it’s our favorite,” wrote u/alternageek. “The staff there is amazing and helpful. We were put in the mood as soon as we walked into the lobby.”
But not everyone enjoyed their time at the Bayou. Some Disney Parks fans felt that the Moderate Resort hotels were not “Disney” enough.
“Unlike the All Star Resorts and Art of Animation, it doesn’t feel very Disney,” argued u/East-Area-7267. “…It’s too reminiscent of the type of resort we stay at when we go to places like Miami and Maine, rather than the type of resort you see at Disney.”
“Honestly, PO is my least favorite resort,” u/Dizzy_Ice2938 replied. “It’s like living in a swamp.”
Another said he would never return to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort after experiencing difficulty breathing in his hotel room.
