The Natural Disaster Displacement Summary provides DTM updates on flood-related displacement across Sudan.

Between June 1 and August 12, 2024, DTM Sudan reported 60 cases of heavy rains and floods causing sudden displacement in Sudan. Rains and floods have displaced an estimated 117,835 people (23,567 households) from locations in 12 different states of Sudan.

This report describes cases of displacement due to floods between 6 and 12 August 2024. For previously reported cases, see Summary of Displacement Due to Natural Disasters (Update 001).

  • DTM observed 31 cases of flood-related displacement between August 6 and 12, 2024.
  • These reported incidents resulted in the displacement of an estimated 96,465 people (19,293 households).
  • Approximately 32,611 buildings were either partially damaged or destroyed by rain and flooding.
