On July 13, 2024, a shocking but predictable incident occurred. Former President DJ Trump was shot on stage in the middle of a rally in the state of Pennsylvania. He was shot in front of a MAGA crowd and the whole world watched the scene through the media. I don’t need to go into the details of the assassination, but I want to share my thoughts on it: “Was it luck or a miracle of God’s intervention?” and “How could this happen?”
I am a Christian, but a few days after the incident I asked myself: “Was it luck or a miracle?” When something incredible happens, Christians say it was a miracle or a blessing from God. Non-Christians, on the other hand, interpret it as luck. The dictionary says that luck is a coincidence, but a miracle is the result of God’s intervention.
In my experience, God cares more than anyone else about the people who fight for His justice and His truth. Some people say we don’t know if Trump is a born again Christian. It’s not our place to judge him, that’s a matter between God and Trump. We don’t know if Trump fought out of God’s justice for this country and its people. But what he did pleased God. God uses everyone for His purposes, just as He used King Cyrus of Persia. Cyrus was a pagan, of course, but God used him to bring the Israelites back to Israel from Babylonian exile. And the Bible mentions Cyrus in the book of Isaiah, long before the exile. I see some hope by July 13th that God is still not giving up on this country.
Second, God blesses those who love their neighbor. Trump sacrificed his personal life for this country’s peace and happiness. He showed how much he cared about his people by raising his fist so people could see he was doing well. How many men can think of other people and try to comfort and encourage others in this situation? This behavior came from his spirit of “love your neighbor.” How many of us have wealth, good children, and a promised lavish life in retirement like he did? He is almost 80 and sacrificed his comfortable retirement with his wonderful family.
There are a lot of people who say, “I don’t like Trump, I don’t like his personality and the way he talks.” I hope they think more like that because he is a strong personality and he is fighting for this country and the future of our children. The Bible says that a good tree bears good fruit and good trees bear good fruit. He has five children who have stood by their father’s side through all these stressful years. How many fathers can have that blessing? Please look at the children of previous presidents. I don’t want to embarrass them so I won’t say anything about their children but you can easily find out the answer.
The assassination attempt could have been a tragedy, but God turned it into a great blessing. From the smallest of wounds, He turned the greatest blessing, which only God can do. The image, which happened to be captured by an award-winning cameraman, shows who Trump really is. Trump has been brutally attacked and falsely portrayed as a Nazi, racist, misogynist, and someone who will destroy democracy. I wonder what kind of democracy they are talking about. Because of the media that has lost its original mission, he has been misunderstood by many people. I am a minority woman, but I could tell who he is from the beginning.
Another great blessing was the unification of the RNC by Congress, which we had never seen before. We saw a unity that perhaps would have been humanly impossible before.
The incompetence of the Secret Service, FBI and local police is illogical. Who knows if God has blinded them? Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but the counsel of the Lord will stand.” When we don’t understand something or it doesn’t make sense with our common sense, either God’s or Satan’s hands are at work. Through my experience, I have learned that God can create an amazing miracle, a masterpiece, out of broken pieces.
Many people don’t seem to know where this country is heading. Our freedom of speech, the right to personal wealth and equal opportunity for every citizen, which represent our wealth, our energy and our path to the middle class, are on the edge of a cliff. One more push will end it. Trump and JD Vance hold the lifeline from the fall. It’s not about conservatives or liberals. It’s about the future of our children. Do you want your children in this country with open borders? If you have a lot of love and sympathy for the illegal immigrants, please open your living room first to show them your kindness. Do you want your children to be denied equal opportunities or manipulated in this country of equal opportunity? I am an Asian immigrant who came to this country with two suitcases. I became a member of the middle class because I have equal opportunities, freedom of choice of career and hard work with all its responsibilities. Nowadays there is almost no color discrimination, only hiring discrimination. My customers value my business and service, and I do not feel any color discrimination.
If you want to give your parents a million dollars after they die, it will be too late and useless. You will have to live the rest of your life with regret. The Bible tells us this: Ephesians 6:2-3 “Honor your father and your mother,” which is the first commandment, accompanied by a promise, namely, “That it may go well with you and that you may live long on the earth.”
While our free democracy is in our hands, let us do our best to support the election. Election campaigns are money. Do you know that? Spreading lies through the media costs money, but deleting lies costs five or ten times more and takes unlimited time.
It doesn’t matter if you are white, black, or any other minority, if you care about the future well-being and freedom of your children, please think seriously and get involved before it’s too late.
