Dodgers could sign Blue Jays superstar to fill biggest gap in roster

The Los Angeles Dodgers are widely considered one of the top contenders to win the World Series this season.

While that’s the case, even they could use some improvement. Los Angeles has had some problems at the shortstop position over the past two seasons and could still use some improvement. The Dodgers have been linked to a handful of players and even tried to sign superstar Mookie Betts to the position before he suffered an injury earlier this season.

The Dodgers will likely be looking for a new player this coming offseason, and one player who could be in the running is superstar shortstop Bo Bichette of the Toronto Blue Jays. Los Angeles has been linked to him before, and Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports reported that the Blue Jays are “likely” to consider trade offers for him.

“The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to consider trade offers this winter for shortstop Bo Bichette, who does not plan to stay in Toronto once he becomes a free agent after the 2025 season.”

Bichette is having a down year this season, but is a two-time All-Star and led the American League in total base hits in both 2021 and 2022. If he becomes available, he is exactly the type of player who could fill the biggest hole on the Dodgers’ roster.

Los Angeles may win the World Series this year, but things could go even better in 2025. If Bichette becomes available, the Dodgers should do everything they can to get a deal done.
