Donovan Mitchell’s adidas DON Issue No. 6 features throwback Cavs colors

Anthony Edwards and the adidas AE1 are dominating the conversation about basketball shoes with the Three Stripes, but don’t miss the DON Issue No. 6. Donovan Mitchell’s latest and greatest signature shoe has been well-received since its debut in July, and with the start of the 2024-25 NBA season fast approaching, there’s still plenty of growth potential to be tapped into.

Choosing team-friendly colors is a rite of passage for any basketball shoe, and that’s exactly what we get with this latest pair. While the majority of the design is black, the accent colors are reminiscent of retro Cleveland Cavaliers jerseys from the ’80s and ’90s. The midfoot sole texture and piping that wraps around the tongue are officially dubbed “Solar Red,” though in reality they’re more orange than anything else. The tongue features a gradient pattern that fades from the orange color to “Lucid Blue,” flipping the overarching theme on its head.

After Spida signed a three-year maximum contract extension with the Cavs earlier this year, we’ll certainly expect to see more team-appropriate shoe colorways from Donovan Mitchell as his signature line continues to evolve. Cleveland has one of the better jersey archives in the league, so there’s certainly no shortage of inspiration to draw from.

The adidas DON Issue #6 “Aurora Black/Solar Red/Lucid Blue” does not have a set release date at the time of writing, so be sure to check back with our sneaker release date page as we provide all the latest information available. Expect the model’s standard MSRP of $120 USD.
