Dores welcomes 10 freshmen – Vanderbilt University Athletics – Official Athletics Site

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt lacrosse head coach Beth Hewitt announced the 2024-25 roster of 10 new Commodores on Tuesday.

Zawadi Brown | Midfield/Defense | Naperville, Illinois.

“Zawadi is one of the best athletes we have ever recruited to Vanderbilt,” Hewitt said. “Her speed is unmatched and her energy is infectious. Z will inspire everyone around her to perform at their best and elevate our athletic level as soon as she steps on campus. She has incredible agility, body control and good defensive positioning. Combine that with her ability to take on anyone one-on-one in the cage and it’s a fantastic combination that I can’t wait to continue watching.”

Grace Hasselback | Midfield | Nashville, Tennessee.

“Grace is an athletic and versatile midfielder who is dynamic in the draw and an all-around competitor,” said Associate Head Coach Jill Kendall. “She embodies everything we look for in our athletes, with a can’t-lose mentality and an extremely competitive nature. She is an experienced midfielder with a wealth of knowledge and expertise.”

Izzy Hughes | Midfield | Winter Park, Florida.

“Izzy is an all-around complete player,” Hewitt said. “She is athletic and technically adept and can impact all facets of the game. Not only is she an incredibly strong attacking midfielder, but she also has a very robust defensive component to her game. Additionally, Izzy is a contributor in the draw circle and will impact the number of possessions our attacking unit has.”

Jiselle Jenkins | Midfield/Defense | Chevy Chase, Maryland.

“Jiselle is an all-around leader who will take Vanderbilt by storm,” Kendall said. “She is a remarkable midfielder who can be a tough defender. Jiselle is not afraid to take on a challenge, but always has a smile on her face. She will be ready to take on a major role on defense while always working to make a big impact on offense as well.”

Bailey Lower | Attack | Nantucket, Mass.

“Bailey is a powerful attacker with extremely dynamic footwork around the basket,” Hewitt said. “She has an incredible stick and a feel for the basket that you don’t see every day. When you combine her talent with her work ethic to be the best, it’s a special combination. Bailey is poised for a very special career.”

Emme Martin | Goalkeeper | Monkton, Maryland.

“Emme is one of the most talented goalies in the 2025 recruiting class,” said Kendall. “She has a work ethic that is second to none and she is ready to compete at the highest level. Her technical skills are impeccable and her hand quickness is among the best we have seen in years. Emme will be a force to be reckoned with over the next four years.”

Alexi Nowakowski | Midfield | Lewes, Del.

“Lexi is a strong, aggressive midfielder who will make an impact on both sides of the ball,” Hewitt said. “She has the strength of a veteran player that you will feel immediately when she steps on the field. Whether she is scoring goals or stopping a strong attacking threat in defense, Lexi is ready to take on some of the best talent in the country.”

Shea Panzik | Attack | Manhasset, NY

“Shea is a skilled attacker who is battle-tested in one of the hotbeds of women’s lacrosse on Long Island,” Kendall said. “She is a high-energy, high-caliber attacker who believes she can beat anyone she goes up against. Shea is already competing like she’s playing Division I lacrosse, and I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the black and gold.”

Kiera Runske | Midfield | Satellite Beach, Florida.

“Kiera is an athlete in every sense of the word, she loves to compete and works tirelessly to be her best,” Hewitt said. “Kiera’s impact in the midfield is huge and her ability to chase 50/50 balls and finish in attack is spectacular. Her relentlessness and coachability make her a tremendous asset at both ends of the field. We couldn’t be more excited to see everything she has achieved; the sky really is the limit for her.”

Anna Szporn | Assault | Morristown, NJ

“Anna is a true threat all over the field and can change any game she’s in,” Kendall said. “Her stick work is incredible and her lacrosse IQ is unmatched. She makes anyone on offense a threat. Her fearless and calm demeanor will no doubt make our offense even stronger once she steps on campus.”
