WHITE CASTLE, La. (WAFB) – This is a press release from the Iberville Parish School System.
Dorseyville Elementary School experienced a power outage today. When power was restored, the cooling system shorted and the school is currently without air conditioning. As a result, Dorseyville Elementary School will be closed tomorrow, Monday, August 19, 2024.
Due to the closure, the IPSB will implement short-term modified operations of the district’s Continuous Learning Plan.
K-6th Grade: Learning packets will be delivered to each student’s home by bus between approximately 7:00 and 7:40 a.m. If your child is driving, please follow normal procedures in the car line. A staff member will then be at Dorseyville Elementary from 7:30 a.m. to 7:55 a.m. to deliver the learning packet to your car. Students are expected to complete as many assignments as possible and turn in any work they were able to complete upon their return and school reopening. You will continue to be informed of any school closure updates through our communications system, school website, social media, and news channels.
