Blue sparks flew through the darkness as the special wristbands given to participants flashed blue before the second panel on the third day of the world-famous congress.

“Hall H, you have been warned, the DC Universe will never be the same again,” he explained.

Fans were treated to a lengthy film with explosive shots showing Johnson dodging bullets and crashing helicopters.

“I heard Black Adam was here, that was really cool shit,” Johnson joked as he returned to the stage along with fellow cast members Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Quintessa Swindell and director Jaume Collet-Serra.

Johnson told fans that his cast mate Pierce Brosnan sent him his regards but was unable to attend the convention.

“The journey of Black Adam has been long and full of passion, commitment and determination. It’s easily been 10 years,” he said.

“The trip was incredible.

“To be here and watch Black Adam float and throw lightning like he’s handing out candy is a dream come true.”

Collet-Serra admitted that he was “shy” and that the discussion was his “worst nightmare”.

The film is scheduled for release in the UK on October 21st.
