English dubbing review: The unwanted undead adventurer “Undead Adventurer”

Overview (spoilers below):
Rentt rejoins the guild under a false name and sets out to explore the unexplored part of the labyrinth, where he encounters an enigmatic and terrifying stranger.

Our opinion:
Thanks to Existential Evolution, Rentt was promoted to a Ghast. This also has its downsides, such as controlling his cannibalistic nature with blood drops, but his increased strength and abilities make up for it. One of these abilities is his immunity to poison, so by RPG standards, Rentt should be safe when fighting poisonous enemies. In his new form, Rentt is able to rejoin his former guild. However, due to his popularity before his transformation, he re-enlists as a novice under the surname “Vivie” to avoid suspicion from other guild members. The episode also portrays Rentt as a crucial part of his guild, as he can help others become adventurers like him. Although he didn’t seem to think so given his position, these moments prove that Rentt’s greatest strength is his kindness.
After that, we finally see Rentt exploring the mysterious area that was hinted at in the previous episode. As it turns out, this area has a formidable elf guarding an unknown room, and she’s not here for a quick chat. However, when the woman realizes Rentt’s true identity, she gives him her cloak and an acacia map that lists the labyrinth rooms he’s been in. Rentt’s happiness also grows as he finds out the value of his new items, particularly the elf’s cloak, which is resistant to magic and physical damage much like armor. Although Rentt’s new form is still a cause for concern, he is able to find the bright spots that keep him on his feet, including his newfound strength and incredible items, which put him in a great position to easily achieve his dream. Amidst the series’ tried-and-tested story elements, the episode also presented Rentt as another likable adventurer worth rooting for, even if he doesn’t reach the heights of other reincarnation anime.

I recently joined BubbleBlabber as a writer and have an extraordinary passion for movies and TV, especially from the animation genre. I have also spent many hours playing video games, especially from the Kingdom Hearts series. My goal is to write the friendliest and most entertaining reviews in the world. Regardless of whether something is good or not, I always remain optimistic and curious about a particular concept from a movie or TV show.
