Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club is coming out later this month, and while Nintendo has already revealed quite a bit of backstory, the ESRB rating now seems to reveal a bit more.

This is by no means your average family-friendly Switch release, as it is rated ‘M’ and contains blood, language, and violence. According to the official ratings synopsis, there will be plot points involving abuse and murder, and there will also be violent cutscenes and foul language.

The description is so detailed that we’re only sharing half of it here. If you really want to read the rest of this summary, you can head over to the ESRB website.

“This is a simulation/adventure game in which players follow a rookie detective who works with the police and the community to find a murderer. As players investigate crime scenes and collect evidence from witnesses, they can ask various questions to uncover important elements of the story/background.”

In case you missed our previous coverage of Emio, it is produced by Yoshio Sakamoto – the same talent who worked on the original games and existing Switch releases.
