Eutelsat and Cable Color extend transmission contract

The Eutelsat Group and the Honduran company Cable Color have signed a new multi-year contract to extend the capacity for video transmission services over Central America on the Eutelsat 117 West A satellite. Cable Color is a long-standing Eutelsat customer.

The 117° West site is the premium TV office for Latin America, offering pan-regional distribution of several major networks and content providers. It currently broadcasts around 300 TV channels, 50 of which are in HD, to around 110 million TV households, and has a strong cable headend penetration comprising over 1,900 cable headends in Latin America and the Caribbean. 117° West is also a growing free-to-air TV office with 100 TV channels broadcasting unencrypted, including channels from major regional public and private broadcasters.

José Ignacio González-Núñez, Senior Regional VP, Media Sales Americas, Eutelsat Group, commented: “It has been a privilege to work with Cable Color as they continue to be one of our most valued customers. We are honoured to offer their services on our premium satellite E117WA, which plays a crucial role in the delivery of video content across Latin America.”

Stefano Racciatti, General Manager of Cable Color, added: “We are pleased to be able to rely on our long-standing partner Eutelsat to provide our customers with high quality and reliable service continuity throughout the catchment area.”
